Privacy policy

LibStop is built for school librarians and is designed to work without any student or patron information.
What we collect
- Your email address, to send sign-in links and, if you ask, to follow up about hands-on help.
- Your school or library name, if you choose to add it. It appears on your PDF reports.
- Catalog data you upload: only the fields the report uses, such as title, author, ISBN, call number, publication year, subjects, reading level, genre, item barcode, total checkouts, last checkout date and date added.
- Usage counts, such as "a report was created" or "a PDF was downloaded," linked to your account, so we can see which features are useful.
- Newsletter signups: the email address you enter.
What we don't collect
- No student or patron records. When you upload a file, columns that look like patron data (names, IDs, barcodes, who has an item, emails, phone numbers, holds, fines) are removed before anything is saved, and you're shown what was removed. Columns the report doesn't use are also dropped.
- No uploaded files. Your file is read once and deleted. Only the fields listed above are saved.
- No advertising or tracking. We use one cookie to keep you signed in. There are no ad networks, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
How long we keep it
- Reports and their catalog data are deleted automatically 90 days after they're created. You can delete any report sooner from its page.
- Uploads you start but don't finish are deleted within 24 hours.
- Deleting your account removes your account, every report, any hands-on help requests and your newsletter signup.
Who processes data for us
- Render hosts the website and its database in the United States.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails.
We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, and we don't use it to train AI models.
Students
LibStop is meant for library staff, not students, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and questions
If we change how data is handled, we'll update this page and its date. Questions or requests: hello@libstop.com. Districts can also request a data privacy agreement.
